I've looked at your galleries several times over the last few years. Really good work, especially the documentation of life in the 70's.
Best,
Walter

lots of fun. Hey, I had a Beetle, too. Loved it.

Hi Richard....
Thanks for visiting and commenting on "the wooden milk bottle."
I am rather embarrassed because this grainy photo was taken with
my very first digital camera, a 1.3 mp.and before I learned how
to clone out fences, etc. I must go back there and improve
the shot. Thanks, lol......Linda Marlowe

Hey Richard, thanks for stopping by and commenting on the squirrel. He was there a while that day and I got a few shots.
Love your sign about the poisonious snakes and insects! They don't mention keeping kids away...only pets. Strange!

Hi Richard,

What a brilliant album! Love the 50s 60s 70s period stuff...it's like a breeze through late 20th Century American life.

Richard, thank you for the kind comment about my Scottish slide of Eilean Donan castle. I know what you mean about Kodachrome vs. Photoshop. A good 35 mm landscape slide projected on a screen looks great!

Dick -- The butcher shop photos, with and without the lab, are amazing. Your ability to spot the poignant among the mundane is rare, thanks for all the silliness as well.

Oh man, cars, cameras and girls—not necessarily in that order! Makes all the years disappear ... were any of us really that beautiful and dumb back then? These are all priceless. Thank god you scanned them.

Great stuff Richard! I liked the journey through time and space having grown up in the Boston area in the 60's and 70's.

Hey Richard! Thanks for stopping by my galleries and commenting on my image of Lake Champlain! I enjoyed looking through your galleries, and especially the image of the Yashica TL camera - this was my first 35mm SLR back in the late 70's. Take care!

Hello Richard,
You've a fantastic collection of old images! You've provided inspiration for me to get moving with the laborious process of sorting and scanning. Again... your photos are a treasure!

Hey Richard! The Wheel, or Eye, is very photogenic. I like your London images, it's odd how some one else's pics of somewhere I know quite well can still be so fascinating. I've never yet taken any somewhere like Regent St or in the parks - though that's my target for when the leaves are turning later this season.

I thought you might be interested to know that the round building you have in your London gallery ("I like it") is affectionately known as the Gherkin!

The older photos are so evocative - you have a book to write I think!
Please find time to annotate so we can get to know the people and places,

Excellent photos Richard! You're a lot like me, but you've many more older shots and better quality, too. Unfortunately, I've never taken good care of my old photos. I used to go the door, loaded down with all the cameras but now they are mostly stowed away. I keep meaning to pick up some 120 format film off ebay and burn off a few rolls....the quality of the image on that large negative makes for excellent detail. I'll be getting a digital SLR when the prices come down from the stratosphere or my pay gets a saturn IV boost. Anyway, thanks for sharing and thanks for visiting...I'm sorry that there is more old pics than new...I need to get away from the shipyard and take some new pics.
