Message from Aurora Vanderbosch
When I first joined Pbase, back in 2003, I couldn't wait to check my site each day. I responded to each and every comment...I made reciprocal visits...I spent a set amount of time each day just searching for new and exciting photographers here, and I would carefully go through their galleries, leaving insightful and positive comments on pieces that moved me.
Alas! These days, I barely have time to post here, let alone do all those fun things--the giving and sharing with the community. Instead, I stop in every so often, upload anything new I happen to remember, and check out my comments.
That's something that hasn't changed--how much I love hearing from people here. And I still take a quick peek around the galleries of anyone who leaves me comments...because, well, I like to know a bit about you. I rarely have time to reciprocate with comments more than once or twice a year--but it doesn't mean your thoughts weren't appreciated...that you didn't brighten my day a little, or provide me with some new insight about a piece.
Since I can't thank you all individually, I want to thank you all publicly, instead. So to all the people who take the time to offer their comments on my photos and galleries...most especially, those who tell me a little bit about WHY they like a given photo or photos, or make the effort to offer constructive criticism. It is GREATLY appreciated--I know how busy you are, and I love that something about my work moved you enough to share a little piece of yourself. :-)
And finally--to all the photographers who share their work here--thanks for the inspiration--and for showing me the world through your eyes! :-)
****Update: I allow comments for everyone--Pbase subscribers, or no--but out of courtesy to my clients, I now moderate all comments, and will delete any that I feel are inappropriate. As long as the messages are respectful, appropriate, and in relatively intelligible English, I will "unhide" them, after reviewing them. (So...if you're the type who feels the need to leave schoolboy comments about people's body parts, save yourself the effort. I'll be the only one who sees them, and they'll be deleted, as soon as I do. It's a little like crank calling the automated "time" message--sure, you can do it, but what's the point? ;))
