I agree with Alek, it is a little loud but for a relatively inexpensive lens you can't help but like it.

I like this lens much. The AF is loud but who cares. The standard lens gives you opportunity to better framing your composition. If you want to see how works this lens see my pagehttp://www.pbase.com/longhairnation/my_sweet_gear

This is a "must have" lens. Sharpness is excellent and deep of field control is maximal.
Whether you use it in a DSLR or a FSLR you will never regret it.
