Tricia: My question pertains to one of you photographs posted about a year ago......a Poinsettia Fern which you spotted at a garden center. I have one of these ferns but cannot find any information about how to care for them. I'm wondering if you remember the name of the garden center. I would love to contact them in an effort to get more information. I want mine to be as beautiful as your picture.

Hello Tricia: I sure enjoyed your photos, we have family in Williamsburg and have spent a 4th of July on Torch Lake and another summer vacation camping on the Lake one of the best kept secrets I think! We live in Rock Michigan in Upper Michigan near Gladstone and hope to one day have family from Oregon and Seattle come to visit that is where we moved from in 2000 We got a 40 acre farm here and are living our dream raising horses etc. I am amazed how many people who live up here in the UP don't even know about Torch Lake so weird? I think Torch Lake was voted the number one fresh lake in the US I think it is funny how many people are missing out on a beautiful place to vacation and so close too the UP! We hope to rent a cabin one day and have family come from the NW to see this lake I sent them your link they are water people who love boating and fishing and relaxing by the water so hopefully they will come and we will visit one day soon?

I lived in Indian Village in the late 60's. I rented the servants quarters on the third floor of a beautiful home. I moved to a beach house in California, which is wonderful, but to this day I tell my stories of my great times in Indian Village to anyone that will listen. Thank you for the memories. Your pictures are beautiful. Now I can show my friends. A picture is worth a thousand words!! Karyn Arnold, Manhattan Beach, CA

Enjoy your photos. Please change your new background color. The new shading makes it impossible to read the legends under the pictures.

Hello, Tricia, Thanks for stopping by our "Spheres" gallery and for your encouraging remarks. I've just enjoyed a stroll through your galleries and very much enjoyed your work, especially your flower photos. I also enjoyed seeing photos from areas where I've lived at one time: southeast Michigan and northern Ohio. Since you're English, you might enjoy taking a look at our "Classical England" gallery from a 2004 trip. Thanks again, and I'll be back for further visits.

I love the photo of the three of you with the singers from Celadon and think
you should have it framed for your mantlepiece or your desk, Love the one of

The Waikiki Memorial was perhaps the best solution to what could have become a "sticky wicket". Some Hawaiian groups are adamantly against disturbing their burial grounds. Like anywhere else that has undergone tremendous modernization the Waikiki area has been transported from a thriving Hawaiian agricultural area, then a playground of the Hawaiian Royalty and now a playground of visitors from around the world. Little wonder that there have been turbulent periods in its history.

Tricia,
The colorful Manju in my picture are Japanese sweets. They are sweet sticky cakes/pastries that are filled with assorted confections (sweetened beans, peanut butter, candied fruit etc.) THe patsry is usually made from rice flour. Some are colored as you can see from the pictures, others shaped in various common Japanese designs (Chrysanthemum leaves, fish, etc). They are usually given as gifts when visiting friends or relatives and are also exchanged during certain holidays.

Tricia,
Thnak you very much for visiting my Hawaii galleries and in particular the Hibiscus gallery. There are literally thousands of varieties. There are a number of local individuals who specialize in creating new hybrids on a regular basis.

Took a quick tour of your galleries and enjoyed them thoroughly. I can see why you posted them to an Internet Gallery rather than "subject" your family and friends to them at an evening slideshow.

Like you this has become a "passion" that relieves stress and has allowed me to see the world thru other's eyes.
Aloha

Hi Tricia.

Thank you for the comments in my Fireworks Tutorial. I just wanted to let you know, that I updated the post-processing section with an alternate method I've been using to reduce the smoke, and at the same time, darken the sky and make the fireworks really pop.

Hi Tricia~
Thanks for the kind comments on my bluebird picture. I have looked though some of your galleries and you have an excellent "eye"!! Looks like we are also shooting with the same "weapon" of choice lately....the 20D. I guess you could say we are "kind of" neighbors.....you in MI and I am in northeast WI! :)

I have you marked in my favorites and will be browsing your beautiful photos on my "lunch breaks" as I don't get to leave my desk....looking forward to looking over your galleries!!

Hi Tricia . .
Well, I've taken the opportunity to look thru your galleries and I've concluded that you're quite the photographer. It seems as though that your interests are quite varied (like mine) and you do well in all of them. BTW, thanks for the compliment you kindly left on my site as well.

Hi Trish
Great photographs you are so clever. My garden is at its best at the moment I need you to take some pictures. Jonny has taken some lovely ones much more artistic than the ones I take I just take them straight he takes them through a plant!
